Classes will include: Pre-surgical physical examination procedures, Patient selection, including discussion of expected outcomes & higher risks, Patient anesthetic monitoring and recovery, Introduction and usage of high volume surgical techniques (ligatures, ovarian pedicle ties, incision placement theories), Review of individual student techniques, including efficiency of motion and body mechanics, Instrument review, and Identification and management of complications.
Students will noticeably observe increased speed and efficiency in spay/neuter surgical techniques by the end of the training.
TLC is not offering this class at this time. Stay tuned.

TLC is now offering 2 day classes for Vet Technicians. The High Quality, High Volume Spay/Neuter Tech Training will be a 2 day class focused on all of the aspects and skills needed for Technicians to be successful as a high volume spay/neuter tech. They will work in all 3 key tech positions for high volume spay/neuter: Surgical Tech, Prep Tech, and Running Tech.
High volume spay/neuter is almost a choreographed process for the techs. The team has to be able to work in harmony and in an assembly line fashion. Everyone has to pull their weight to be able to keep the Veterinarians busy with 35-50 spay/neuter surgeries per day. We will have trainees well versed in all of the processes by the end of the second day. This should help with efficiencies at other clinics.
